Tottenham have appointed Tim Sherwood as their manager until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Spurs have confirmed that the 44-year old will be handed the reins on a less temporary basis for the remainder of this campaign and at least the next one thereafter.

Former Spurs and Blackburn Rovers midfielder Sherwood stepped up from a coaching role to replace Andre Villas-Boas as manager when he was sacked last Monday.

His first game in charge was a 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat to West Ham United before guiding the north London club to a 3-2 Premier League win at Southampton on Saturday.
