Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood feels his job is a week-to-week proposition.
Holland coach Louis van Gaal, Italy boss Cesare Prandelli and Ajax manager Frank de Boer have all been linked with his job in recent weeks.
"People have been waiting for us to lose. The perception is you cannot be a rookie manager and come in and be that good," said Sherwood.
"Mourinho gets backed by the chairman and buys the players to win instantly.
"I see myself as a manager who builds something. I realise at the moment that is not possible because I have been dealt a hand here and I have to try to win games. I'm going from game to game trying to keep myself in a job."
