Tim Sherwood will be handed a promotion at Tottenham.

The Daily Mail says former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will be soon installed as Spurs manager.

He is expected to work closely alongside Sherwood at White Hart Lane.

Sherwood, 43, has impressed the Spurs hierarchy during his spell as an assistant first-team coach and then technical co-ordinator. The former Spurs and Blackburn midfielder is set to be handed a prominent role within the first-team operation.
