Tim Sherwood says Emmanuel Adebayor can make a huge impact at Crystal Palace.
Sherwood worked with Adebayor at Tottenham.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Sherwood said he believes Palace have recruited a player who could be one of the best in the Selhurst Park club's history.
"He's a good player," he said. "For no money, if you can get him firing I think Alan Pardew said it... probably bar Ian Wright - I don't want to be disrespectful to any other Palace players - on his day he's the best player they've had at their football club.
"He's a wonderful player. He is good for the short term.
"He needs a long term contract at the end of the season so he'll want to be proving to everyone that he's worthy of going to a big club.
"Or I can see him liking it there and staying for a longer time."
