Shelvey to knuckle down for Swansea stay

Swansea City and England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey says he wants to stay at the club and fight for his place after being warned over his attitude by boss Garry Monk. The 22 year old scored with a spectacular strike in the 1-0 win at Southampton in his first Premier League start since the 4-1 loss to Liverpool on 29 December.

"I want to stay and fight for my place, that's the main thing," Shelvey said.

"It's not just on the pitch I've got to do it, but on the training pitch as well. Fingers crossed I can do it."
