Yaya Toure says he is a man on a mission at Manchester City.
The Ivory Coast midfielder was purchased from Barcelona by City owners the Abu Dhabi Group back in 2010 as one of the first big-money buys of Sheikh Mansour's tenure.
Toure has been on of the club's best-ever players during his time at the Etihad Stadium and he plans to continue on in that vain until City is recognised as one of the world's biggest and most successful clubs.
"People think I'm here for something else. No! From the beginning I wanted to see this club grow," Toure told the Sunday Times.
"When I had my chat with the boss, (chairman) Khaldoon al Mubarak, he said, 'You're a significant player for me, the first to show the world we want to build something.
"Because of that I perceive my purpose here differently. People might just think I'm here to have money or fun.
"No! Mansour has given me a mission."
