The head of Dubai International Capital was enraged when the American co-owner KO'd his £400million bid to buy the club yesterday - and insisted he will not make a better offer.

Now he hopes Kop fans turn tonight's Premier League clash with West Ham into a huge anti-Tom Hicks rally to hammer home the message.

A source admitted to The Sun: "Sheikh Mohammed is a Liverpool fan and wants the kudos of owning them - but not to make a profit.

"He's prepared to let Hicks sweat in his own juices until he's forced into doing a deal."

Sheikh Mohammed is so determined to gain control of Liverpool he snubbed chances to buy into Tottenham, Blackburn and Arsenal over the past year.

He wants Liverpool as his prize sporting asset as he aims to turn Dubai into THE most glamorous place in the world.
