Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh on loan.

The 33 year old Republic of Ireland international joins the Owls until the end of October in accordance with the Football League emergency loan system.

Wednesday boss Brian Laws said: "I am delighted that Graham has decided to join us because several other clubs were interested in him.

"He is a top player and will bring many qualities to our squad in the coming weeks."

Kavanagh is the second experienced loan arrival at Hillsborough this week, after defender Michael Johnson arrived from Derby.
