Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws hopes to hang onto on-loan Middlesbrough fullback Tony McMahon.

The 22-year-old has impressed during his month with the Owls, and Wednesday boss and former Boro player Laws is confident of keeping the right back for another month.

Discussions have already taken place with Boro.

Laws said: "I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I don't see it being a problem, so long as Boro don't get any more injuries.

"Tony fits in so well, it's like he's been here for years."
