Sheffield Wednesday will attempt to extend the loan of Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh.

But while Kavanagh is reluctant to return to Wearside without the promise of a first-team opportunity, Owls officials have conceded that the midfielder is unlikely to remain in Sheffield beyond this weekend.
