Sheffield Wednesday have been priced out of a loan deal for Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood.

The Sheffield Star says the Owls asked after Harewood but it is believed that the player's wages - said to be around £22,000 a week and with no subsidy possible from Villa - ended any further interest, and that he would be reluctant to drop into the Championship.
