Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo says former Sporting CP teammate Cristiano Ronaldo was always confident of stardom.
Both players were 12 years old when Cristiano swapped his hometown of San Antonio on the island of Madeira for Lisbon, where Semedo was already living.
"Even back then he used to tell me: 'I'm going to play at Manchester United first and then I'm going to join Real Madrid'. When I think about it now, everything he said has come true," explained Semedo to Marca.
"Cristiano is writing an unforgettable story in the world of football". "Without a shadow of a doubt, he's the best sportsman on the planet. When he plays, the entire world stops to watch. When he retires, we'll cry because we won't have any other footballers like him. It just goes to show, in football, anything is possible. He's just on another level."
