Sheffield Wednesday have extended the loan of Derby County defender Michael Johnson.

The 34-year-old joined the Championship side in September and his stay at Hillsborough has now been prolonged until the end of November.

Johnson has made six starts since his move from Derby, and Owls boss Brian Laws has spoken of his delight at extending the veteran's services.

"We are delighted that Michael Johnson has decided to stay with us for another month," he told the club's official website.

"He has brought plenty of experience and knowledge to our defence and has helped our younger players."
