Sheffield Wednesday have sounded out former Manchester City and Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

The Daily Mail says City released him at the end of the season and there has been a gentle enquiry from Championship newcomers Sheffield Wednesday.

There have also been informal conversations with a couple of Barclays Premier League teams, though Hargreaves has hopes of continuing at the highest level.
