Sheffield Wednesday chairman Mandaric wants to buy Rangers

Milan Mandaric is reportedly looking to buy troubled Scottish club Rangers.

The Sheffield Wednesday chairman, and former Portsmouth and Leicester City owner, has been revealed by SunSport as the man who has expressed interest in taking over at Ibrox after the reigning Scottish champions fell into administration earlier this week.

The 73-year old Serbian businessman has told Rangers new administrator, Duff & Phelps, that he is interested in taking over from current owner Craig Whyte although Paul Clark, of the financial advisory company, did not state Mandaric's name when revealing he information.

"As administrators we also have a duty to look at other expressions of interest in the club," he said.

"To date we have had several such expressions of interest and these will be examined in the forthcoming days and weeks. I will not comment on them individually."
