Tottenham have confirmed their interest in Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers by offering him a £2million deal.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is still keen to bring in a centre-half prior to the 2009/10 EPL season but it seems as though the Owls want a bit more than the original offer.

Wednesday manager Brian Laws believes the 19-year old Beevers is worth around £3million meaning Redknapp will have to up his bid to be successful in acquiring him.
