Ched Evans wants to fire Sheffield United into the Premiership so he can show Manchester City what they missed.
The former City striker said: "There's nothing more frustrating than putting in the effort in training and then coming to a match day and not getting on. As a footballer there's nothing worse really.
"It's just good to be playing and I want to thank the manager for bringing me in and giving me that chance. It was a relief to get out of City because I need to be playing at my age.
"I think United were unlucky last season with missing out on promotion and hopefully we'll put that right this season. Then I can face City in the Premier League and prove a point.
"All my friends are there but you have to forget the past and concentrate on the future, and Sheffield United are the future."
