Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson is determined to sign permanently on-loan Manchester United fullback Phil Bardsley.

Bardsley has been on loan at Sheffield United since October and Robson will pay United £1.5million to make the move permanent.

Bardsley, 22, is not part of Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team plans at Old Trafford and he spent last season on loan at Rangers and Aston Villa.

He has been a hit at Bramall Lane and Robson believes he can help push the Blades back to the Premier League.
