Sheffield United defender Matthew Kilgallon is set to reject a move to Wolves.
The Mirror says Wolves boss Mick McCarthy wants Sheffield United contract rebel Kilgallon to join his survival fight - but faces a big task to persuade him.
Defender Kilgallon is letting his Blades deal run down and the Championship outfit are keen to sell him in the window rather than lose him for nothing.
McCarthy has stepped into the hunt and is the only manager offering Killa the chance of Premier League football for the rest of the season.
However Kilgallon, also a cash target for promotion-bound Newcastle United, is reluctant to commit to any move to Wolves in case they go down and he goes back to the second tier.
