Sheffield United defender Jack O'Connell remains a target Brighton.

Sky Sports says Brighton are interested in O'Connell and are prepared to pay £6m for him, as the Premier League club's pursuit of Liam Moore has stalled.

Reading defender Moore has handed in a transfer request to try to force through his move to Brighton, but the Royals are at this stage holding firm.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton wants a centre-back to add to his defensive options, and has now turned to O'Connell, who was a key player for United last season, appearing in all 46 Championship matches.
