Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell is chasing Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.

The Mirror says Ikeme is on loan at Charlton, but the Blades chief is keen to sign him permanently as he shakes up his goalkeeping department for this season and beyond.

Blackwell is without veteran Ian Bennett, who is recovering from a hand injury, and on-loan Blackburn shot-stopper Mark Bunn has had a poor run of games and is due to return to Rovers.

Ikeme could grab the chance of regular first-team football at Bramall Lane where Paddy Kenny is suspended because of failing a drugs test - and will not play again this season.
