Aston Villa defender Shane Lowry has been welcomed to Sheffield United.

New Blades boss Micky Adams is happy to have brought in the Australian on-loan.

Adams told the club's official website: "He is young, enthusiastic, fits the profile we are looking for and I have watched him recently in Villa's reserves.

"He had a good loan spell at Leeds United last season so coming to a club like ours won't faze him."
