Sheffield United are reportedly showing interest in former Watford captain Jay DeMerit.

Local buzz is that the Blades have put in a bid for the released Hornets defender who recently represented the USA at the World Cup.

DeMerit is currently a free agent after his contract with Watford expired and it looks like he may remain in the English Championship if the reports of Sheffield's interest are more than speculation.
