Sheffield United boss Wilder tells Watford striker Sinclair to 'man up'!

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has had a pop at Watford striker Jerome Sinclair.

Watford and United had agreed a loan deal to take Sinclair to the North East on Thursday only for it to fall through in the final hours of the transfer window, and a behind-the-scenes video from Bleacher Report, starring Wilder, laid the blame firmly at the feet of the striker's agent Aidy Ward.

Sinclair yesterday called the video "one-sided" and "misleading", and now Wilder has responded to defend his comments - and issued a thinly-veiled suggestion that the former Liverpool forward should "man up".

He told the Sheffield Star: “The biggest situation is that players have go to take more control of their own careers in my opinion. It is their career.

“I've always thought that football, playing football, is the biggest driver. I'm not alone, I spoke to Harry Redknapp at Birmingham City about it, in a general sense.

"We talked about players taking ownership, manning-up, showing some [expletive] and making decisions for their own career."
