New Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson is confident that the status of the club will be enough to "attract a better calibre of player" as the Blades look to gain promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt. Wilson must look to rebuild his squad with a reduced budget following relegation but is confident recruiting the right players will not be a problem.
He said: "We've got our targets and players we would like to bring in. Relegation means there have to be cuts, so we have to try and balance the books too, because it isn't going to be an open cheque. We have got to cut our cloth according to League One.
"We've spoken to quite a few players that we'd like to bring in. This club is an attraction in itself because it's massive.
"The only downside at this moment in time is it's in League One but in my view we can still attract a better calibre of player.
"I'd like to think that if the money is right and two or three clubs are vying for a certain player then we would be the first choice and let's hope the fresh faces give everyone a lift."
