Lomana Lualua is being lined up for a shock return to Newcastle United.
The People says Alan Shearer will attempt to bring LuaLua back to Newcastle if he stays on as Toon boss beyond the end of the season.
Shearer has been helping to identify transfer targets for next term and LuaLua, currently playing for Qatar outfit Al Arabi, has been mentioned.
LuaLua, 28, was a strike partner of Shearer before he left for Portsmouth in 2004 and has since played for Greek side Olympiacos.
He is keen to move back to England and would be available for around £1 m.
