Shearer unlikely to consider Blackburn job

Alan Shearer is unlikely to consider the manager's job at Blackburn Rovers.

The Mail on Sunday says Blackburn's hopes of replacing Hughes with their former striker, Shearer, look to be fading. Shearer is the popular choice with Rovers fans but the former England captain is contracted to the BBC next season and is happy to continue with that.

Shearer is considered a legend by Blackburn fans. Under Kenny Dalglish, he helped the club win their only Premier League title in 1995 and earned Rovers a world record £15 million transfer fee when he joined Newcastle the following year.
