Newcastle legend Alan Shearer slammed ref Mark Clattenburg's performance in Manchester United's FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace.

Shearer felt Clattenburg blew too soon for a foul by United defender Chris Smalling on Connor Wickham with the Crystal Palace clear on goal.

He said: "This is an absolute shocking decision.

"Why on earth can he not wait a second or two there for Wickham to get up and go on?

"He's blown far too early as he has done on a couple of other occasions.

"It's a foul but he doesn't have to blow straight away.

"Let the game flow instead of blowing your whistle all the time."
