Alan Shearer looks almost certain to be installed as manager of Newcastle United.

The former star striker has been left in the dark in regards to his position but a proposed meeting in London with owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek Llambias is sure to shed some light on the situation.

Ashley and Llambias have said that Shearer would be given the job if prospective buyers backed the decision.
