Reports suggest that Alan Shearer is ready to return to Ewood Park as manager of Blackburn Rovers.
The former star striker, who guided the Rovers to the league title in 1995, has told close friends that he would be keen to take the Blackburn job after the dismissal of Sam Allardyce earlier this week.
Shearer had a short tenure with his other former club, Newcastle United, at the end of the 2008/09 season and since then has been linked whenever there have been managerial fragilities at some clubs.
Now his name has come up again, this time for the Rovers job, and he apparently feels he is ready to again step into the management caper but only if club owners Venky's can give him assurances about having the final say about such things as team selection, signings and game style.
