Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has questioned Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho's handling of Marcus Rashford.

Rashford scored eight goals from 18 appearances for Manchester United under Louis van Gaal last season.

But the 19-year-old has found life at Old Trafford tougher under Jose Mourinho, netting seven times from 38 games.

"Look at the problems Marcus Rashford is having to establish himself as a striker at Manchester United," Shearer told The Sun.

“It won't get any easier for him either because boss Jose Mourinho will buy more big hitters this summer.

“It seems if Rashford wants to succeed at United he will have to do it from a wide-left role, yet England are crying out for him to be playing as a striker."
