Alan Shearer is willing to talk to Blackburn Rovers about becoming the club's next manager.
The Lancashire Telegraph understands the former England captain, whose goals famously helped Rovers land the Premier League title in 1995, is interested in discussing the possibility of making a sensational return to the club where he made his name.
Shearer has previously expressed a desire to test himself in the world of management, and sources close to the 37-year-old have indicated he could be enticed into succeeding Mark Hughes in the Ewood Park hot-seat.
Shearer appears to be the overwhelming choice amongst the fans, according to a poll conducted by the Lancashire Telegraph.
Although Shearer has yet to publicly declare his interest in the vacancy, we have been told he is willing to listen to what the club has to say, and could be persuaded to give up his lucrative job as a pundit with the BBC.
