Shearer keen on management: Not at Newcastle

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer admits management interests him - but not necessarily at St James' Park.

Shearer said: "I'm really enjoying my life and I am happy with my TV work, which is keeping me busy along with my golf. I would like to manage one day. If I got to 50 or 55 and I hadn't done it then it would be nagging away with me. I'll do it one day.

"I didn't say it would happen at Newcastle, that is the Press presuming things. Management does interest me, otherwise I wouldn't have done my coaching badges. I've just finished my A Licence, which was two years' hard work. But I don't know, I really couldn't tell you when I plan to go into management. I'm happy doing what I'm doing at the moment."
