Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer is encouraged seeing manager Alan Pardew bring through more locals.
He was proud to see more Geordie players in the starting line-up after the likes of Adam Armstrong and Paul Dummett broke through to Pardew's team..
Shearer told the Evening Chronicle: "It's nice to see..
"It's not exactly Sir John's dream of many years ago when he wanted to see 11 Geordies in there..
"At least we've got a couple in and amongst the first-team picture so I think that's always healthy."
