Stoke City skipper Ryan Shawcross is set to pen a new six-year deal next week.

The Telegraph says Shawcross is poised to sign a new six-year contract next week. Shawcross, an England international and club captain, has been in further talks over the last few days and is expected to agree terms after the Premier League game with Fulham on Saturday.

Shawcross has emerged as a possible target for Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and QPR over the last 12 months, earning his first England cap in the friendly against Sweden last week.
