Stoke centre half Ryan Shawcross hopes he can maintain his high standards this season and catch Fabio Capello's eye. Shawcross has long been touted as a possible England star, with his rise to prominence over recent years helping him to stand out from the crowd.
He is, however, yet to be awarded his international bow and remains on the fringes of the Three Lions fold.
"It's just about consistency now and not making mistakes," he told The Sun.
"I hope I get noticed and that chance (England) comes around again soon and I can get into a squad and kick on from there."
