Shaw: Man Utd transition has not been easy for me

Luke Shaw admits his adjustment to life at Manchester United has not been as simple as he would have liked.

The 19-year old left-back joined the Red Devils from Southampton for £28million last summer but has so far failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford.

Shaw has made just 19 appearances in his debut season for United and admits it has been a little bit of a struggled adapting to such a move.

"I am still young and coming to the biggest club in the world hasn't been easy for me," Shaw, who has been involved in Louis van Gaal's first team recently, told the Daily Mail.

"I wouldn't say it has been a hard three weeks but it has been a three weeks that I have been able to learn a lot more about myself, so it has been a nice three weeks in that respect and good to get on the pitch again."

In regards to his surprise start in the weekend's clash with Chelsea, Shaw added: "Over the last three weeks I have learned a lot from the manager and credit goes to him for trusting me in a big game like this.

"I have family and friends who are helping me on my journey and the manager has been unbelievable as well."
