Former Manchester United star Lee Sharpe is confident David Moyes will successfully replace the retired Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sharpe, who was one of Sir Alex's earliest signings in 1988, believes the changing of the guard at the Theatre of Dreams will be completely seamless due to a sensible, intelligent appointment.

"I think it is going to be a smooth transition and business as usual," the ex-Reds winger told ManUtd.com after Sunday's Red Heart United match with Real Madrid.

"David Moyes is very similar to the young Alex Ferguson who first came to the club. He is hungry, driven, he has a lot of discipline and I think he will blend straight in.

"He will be a bit surprised by the actual size of the club when he turns up for pre-season and sees the amount of fans we have around the world. But I think he is going to be fine and I think he is the right man for the job."
