Billy Sharp faces kicking his heels at Southampton until January.
The Daily Star Sunday says Sharp, 27, has no future at St Mary's under boss Mauricio Pochettino after being left out of Saints' pre-season planning and ignored for their opening three Premier League games.
He is wanted by Championship clubs Reading, Leeds, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Doncaster when the loan transfer window opens this week. But the former Sheffield United and Scunthorpe hitman, who cost Southampton £1.8million from Donny in January 2012, cannot leave because Saints are refusing to subsidise his £18,000-a-week wages.
