Shanghai Shenhua owner plans big marketing push with Chelsea icon Drogba

Shanghai Shenhua owner Zhu Jun has talked up the prospect of luring Didier Drogba away from Chelsea. Zhu Jun discussed the prospect on Weibo yesterday.

He wrote: "The grandson of my old leader sent me a New Year's card printed with Anelka and Drogba. He said 'Uncle Zhu, will both of them come to China to play? Could I have a football with their autographs?' Yes, yes! What can I say facing the high expectations? But you know my difficulties?"

He also later added: "An agent told me to sign Drogba would be harder than buying a country's president. No matter if you believe that or not, I believe it."

Zhu Jun made his billions in online games and added: "We have spent 100 million dollars on the game Firefall, the game looks like another Avatar. But who will we hire as the best ambassador? All employees in China, Korea and Europe agreed on him ?Drogba). My God."

Drogba is reportedly being offered a world record £300,000-a-week to quit Chelsea for Shenhua this month.
