Former Chelsea pair Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba will be working hard for their money at Shanghai Shenhua.
The Sunday Express says Drogba's lucrative deal is understood to include becoming a spokesman for a Chinese online gaming company in a similar arrangement to his former Chelsea teammate, Nicolas Anelka, who joined Shenhua in January.
Anelka was paid nearly £3million to endorse an online game developed by Internet company The9, whose chairman Zhu Jun is also the chief investor in Shenhua.
Under the terms of the possible deal with Drogba, Shenhua would also support charitable projects in Africa, possibly involving a hospital that the 34-year-old striker is having built in his native Ivory Coast.
