Ambitious Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua are looking for a creative midfielder, possibly in the form of Internacional's Andres Nicolas D'Alessandro.

The 30-year old Argentina international has emerged on the radar of Shanghai, following their recent signings of Nicolas Anelka from Chelsea and Joel Griffiths from rivals Beijing Guoan, with club director Zhou Jun confirming their interest.

"We are very interested in some creative midfielders," Jun said.

"Andres Nicolas D'Alessandro is on our list."
