Shanghai Shenhua striker Joel Griffiths admits he is excited about the arrival of former Chelsea star Didier Drogba.

The Ivory Coast international is set to link up with the Chinese Super League club soon and Australian forward Griffiths says it is a very exciting time for both the club and the city of Shanghai.

"It looks like he is coming and for me it would be a dream come true to play alongside him," Griffiths, who has been out for nearly two months with a knee injury, told The World Game.

"We're expecting to see him here in the next week or so. The club has pretty much confirmed that and there's a real feeling of excitement about the place.

"When I joined the team the chance to play with (Nicolas) Anelka was great but because of the injury that's not really been the case. With Didier Drogba now signing the scenario is even more amazing."
