Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu has suggested that Manchester City are not up to the same level as the Ukraine giants.

City are in pursuit of Shakhtar's Brazilian star Fernandinho, who has a released clause of around £42million, but Lucescu suggests he would be leaving for a lower club if he were to depart the Donbass Arena.

"If City want to, the clause is €50 million [£42.3m]," Lucescu told PRO TV.

"If our players receive offers from teams higher than Shakhtar, we do everything possible to help them. Currently, I think Manchester City are not at our level."
