Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred insists he won't make a decision over his future until after the World Cup.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was closing in on a £52.5million move for the Brazil star and the Old Trafford club were hopeful of concluding a deal before kick-off in Russia.

But Fred wants to wait until after the tournament to make a final decision.

"Maybe after the World Cup I will make the choice," he said. "Now I am only thinking about the World Cup."

Shakhtar have already lined up a replacement by agreeing to sign Maycon from Corinthians for £5m.
