Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Sergei Palkin has revealed Liverpool have "stopped" negotiations over Alex Teixeira.
Kop chiefs have been working to sign hotshot Teixeira, 26, but the Ukrainian champions have so far rebuffed their offers.
Palkin said: “Liverpool stopped at the amount of 32million Euros and 4million bonus.
“This is the last number that was announced. Our position is that we do not want to sell Teixeira today.
“We will sell only at the end of the season. We need to show serious results in the Europa League and the championship of Ukraine. At the end of the season we will sit down at the negotiating table."
Palkin claims Kop chiefs will have to stump up £53m if they really want him now.
“Teixeira has compensation in his contract and the price is 70million Euros [£53m]," Palkin added. “Please, if someone is going to trigger that let him come and declare himself.
“Our coach [Mircea Lucescu] wants Teixeira to remain until the end of the season. We must adhere to a common goal."
