Henrikh Mkhitaryan has gone AWOL from Shakhtar Donetsk as he pushes for a move away. Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu admits the Armenia attacker has stayed away from training, without permission, as he attempts to push through a deal with Liverpool.

The Reds have offered €22 million for Mkhitaryan, Shakhtar are holding out for €30 million.

"It is his decision to stay away, but he does so making a big mistake," said Lucescu. "Shakhtar is a big club and there are always 50,000 fans in the stadium that support the players. We play every year for the title, the cup and the Champions League. Mkhitaryan should be here.

"I urge him to return to Shakhtar."
