AS Roma have made a move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Douglas Costa.
Their approach was confirmed by Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu.
"I know that Roma are interested in Douglas Costa and have made the first steps to sign him," Lucescu told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"Nothing official has been done yet, but I'd prefer to keep him in the squad because he is young, only 20 years old, and had a great start to his time with us.
"We'll be playing in the Champions League and he has a group of Brazilians in Donetsk with him.
"However, if I am put in a position to sell, then there's nothing I can do about it. I won't keep players who do not want to be here, but Douglas Costa is certainly a great talent."
