Shakespeare: Leicester win the Champions League? Why not?!

Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare is not planning on taking any backward steps in the Champions League tomorrow night.

The Foxes trail Sevilla 2-1 ahead of the Round of 16 second leg at the King Power Stadium but the away goal has the reigning Premier League winners in with a strong chance of advancing to the quarter-finals.

From there on, the sky is the limit according to a hopeful Shakespeare who has won both of his matches in charge since Claudio Ranieri's sacking.

Asked if Leicester can win it, Shakespeare said: "Why not?

"We are in it, we have to try to be competitive in every game.

"For me there is no free game in football, you have to try to win every game you go in to and show that determination and competitiveness and we need to show that in abundance tomorrow night.

"We know the importance of getting that goal. It is going to be a huge task but hopefully with the crowd - and we make a good atmosphere here - we can go through."

Asked further if Leicester have practised penalties ahed of the Sevilla return bout, he added: "We have, we are trying to leave no stone unturned - and by the way they were good, hopefully we can carry that on."
