Shakespeare: Defensive Leicester unlucky to lose to Arsenal

Leicester City coach Craig Shakespeare says that his side were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Foxes had defended bravely until the 85th minute before a late own-goal from defender Robert Huth handed the hosts all three points.

Following the game, Shakespeare said: "My analysis is we defended really resiliently for 85 minutes. We had to against a very good side in Arsenal.

"We had to put blocks in and when we had to defend, we defended.

"We would have liked to have attacked a bit more but to lose in the manner we did was very disappointing.

"Obviously it was a deflected shot. Yes, of course when you are losing and you know you are running out of time you throw caution to the wind. We did but it wasn't to be."

He added: "He (Huth) had to be outstanding tonight because of the quality he was up against but it was a cruel deflection because the shot wasn't even on target. It happened so quickly and he couldn't get out of the way. We have to recover quickly from this because we knew we had two tough away games and we have another one now on Saturday."
